Galiah Lavan, a performer of Cabaret and Tribal Fusion bellydance, has been studying Oriental Dance since 2005. Begun as a fitness exercise, the dance became a hobby, then a passion. With a background in the performing arts and a degree in Anthropology, Galiah fell in love with Raks Sharqi's ethereal and earthy tones, as it gives women throughout the world a celebratory relief from social expectations.

In Summer of 2008, Galiah Lavan was awarded First Place in the Student Category at the Midwest Bellydance Challenge, hosted by Kimahri and sponsored by Maqam. A student of lovely dancers Jezminda and Zoh'ra, she has performed throughout Illinois and Wisconsin both as a member of Zoh'ra's Jewels and as a soloist. She hopes, someday, to teach and perform at the professional level.

Galiah Lavan is available to entertain at benefits, cultural demonstrations, and town celebrations, as well as for private co-ed parties, such as anniversaries, engagements and retirements. Sorry, she does NOT perform at all-male events.

Check her Events page to see where she will be dancing next!
